- Coconut chuteny OR Nariyal ki chutney
What to say about coconut chutney? It is one of the tastiest chutneys ever. It is a South Indian condiment that is served with dosa, idli, vada, and also as a part of a meal.
You can also make it dry or thin, depending on your taste preference.
so lets start the recipe....
Ingredients
Coconut (Fresh) - 1 cup
Green chilli - 3 nos
Tamarind / imli( Amchur powder) - 1tbs
Salt according to taste
And¼-½ cup water
FOR TEMPERING
Oil - 2tbs
Mustard seeds(rai) - 1tbs
Urad dal - 1/2tbs
Dried kashmiri red chilli - 2 nos
Few curry leaves
Method
- firstly, in a blender take 1 cup coconut, 3 green chilli, 1 tbs tamarind and salt according to taste.
- Add in ¼-½ cup water as required depending on variety of coconut used.
- blend to smooth paste adding more water if required.
- Now prepare the tempering by heating 2 tsp oil.
- Take a tempering pan or other pan and add in 1 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp urad dal, 2 dried red chilli and few curry leaves. allow to splutter it.
- Finally pour the tempering over coconut chutney and serve with idli, dosa or rice.
